This customer approached us because they were experiencing moisture related issues and dealing with standing water in the crawl space even though they had a vapor barrier. To improve this crawl space and make sure that it’s positively serving the rest of the home’s structure, we completed the following services:

• Pumped out any and all standing water to prepare the space for a sump pump.
• Installed a ½” HP sump pump.
• Extended the sump pump drain line approximately 40 ft. underground to ensure that the water doesn’t flow back into the crawl space.
• Sealed any and all air leaks around the HVAC trunk where it exits out of the wall.

This customer came to us because they had lived in their home for several years and were unable to get into the crawl space. They figured that they needed to have some work done down there so they called us for an evaluation. Following our 22-point comprehensive crawl space evaluation, we performed the following services to ensure that their crawl space was healthy and protected:

• Performed a ground clean out to remove debris and old insulation.
• Removed the present mold growth and performed a partial mold & fungicide treatment on all of the girders.
• Installed a 12-mil string reinforced vapor barrier to the floors.
• Installed R19 encapsulated insulation.
